  • Who do we help?
Our activities are tailored towards creating a community and support group for low-income widowed families. Individuals whose children attend high-end or middle-end schools and who have stable employment, or have adult children with stable employment are not eligible for these supports.
  • How do we help?
At the core of our foundation is creating a community of women who can uplift others with similar situations. We are aware that finances are only a portion of the mix and so we go a step further to ensure emotional and physical well being of the women in our community through access to support groups — people with similar stories as them.
  • Is this organization registered?
Yes! As of April 2021, we are proudly and fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commision (CAC) of Nigeria!
  • How does the foundation fund activities?
We hold firmly to the belief that while a match can strike fire, it takes a whole lot more to burn! Our activities are not funded by single benefactors and so we do not directly report to anyone. The good thing about this is that donations from individuals and varied sources make us a true community with our beneficiaries as our center and motivation.
  • How can you get involved?
There are so many ways to get involved with our activities. Since 2021, we have decided to remain focused on tuition expenses and care packages for widows and their families in our community. To get involved, you could donate monetary and provision packages to our foundation. You could volunteer to partner with us by providing free skill acquisition programs and mentorship for women in our community and you could also link us to remote communities, schools, and genuine low-income widows whom we can add to our community. But don’t let our ideas restrict you, we are open to whichever way you decide to get involved too!
  • Where are our activities stationed?
Currently, most of our activities are stationed in Rivers state, Nigeria. However, we have reached out to widowed families in Delta, Edo, Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos states; and are always willing to reach out to as many as we can afford to, wherever they may be in Nigeria!
  • What do we expect from the widows in our community?
We expect that widows who receive our support pay it forward to women with similar fortunes or less and we try to keep track of this as well by engaging as many widows as they’ve reached out to, in our community too! We also expect honesty, courteousness, and respect to volunteers in our community.
  • What are some obstacles we encounter in reaching out to widows?
Deciding to help is the easy part! Reaching out to these women and getting them involved in the process and in our community is a step further. We try to remain in constant communication with the women in our community but sometimes this can be difficult for those who are not reachable by phone. We are open to ideas on how we can reach out to even more widows!
  • How do we prepare for/overcome obstacles
Human relations can be daunting! However, we’ve been blessed to experience widows who are mostly committed to their family and community. We ask widows within our community for regular feedback and are open to improving their experiences with the feedback we receive.
  • How do we use the money we receive? How transparent are we with funds?
Our organization is very transparent with funds. We provide evidence of tuition expenses and care packages on our social media and they are easy to find and keep track of for anyone who may be interested in donating. All monetary donations we receive are well accounted for and spent only on the widows in our community and in our activities towards catering for them. Volunteers in our organization at this time do not receive stipends or salaries and are dedicated awesome humans who genuinely want to help! Hence, all donations go solely to the widowed families within our community.
